Great product at this price point.

It’s been two weeks and I am very happy with the product so far.

The effective price is close to 52K after discount and cashback.

The hinge is very good – there is no gap after closing, the crease is barely visible.

The display is very high quality, the external display is also very useful.

The phone is very very sleek and still has a large battery which easily lasts a day with moderate use; and charges very quickly as well with a 33W charger supplied in the box.

Comes with a pre-applied screen protector and also a very good case in the box.

The haptic feedback is of very high quality.

The processor is very reliable.

Cameras are good. Can take pictures with the main camera without opening the phone.

The user interface/software experience is great.

The dual stereo speakers are loud and sound great.

Overall, very happy with the product.

Would be great if we get more things to do on the external display via OTA updates.

Poor Quality Screen

I recently purchased a Motorola phone, and I couldn’t be more disappointed with the screen quality. It didn’t take long for issues to surface.

Within 30 days, the colors appeared washed out, and there was a noticeable lack of clarity. This was particularly frustrating since I had high hopes for the phone’s display quality.

To make matters worse, the screen eventually delaminated from the fold. I had been handling the phone with utmost care, yet the screen’s layers began to separate, causing a visually unappealing and distracting effect. It was incredibly frustrating to see a high-end smartphone exhibit such poor build quality.

To resolve these issues, I decided to contact the Motorola service center, thinking they would provide assistance promptly. However, dealing with them turned out to be another headache. Their customer service was subpar, and they gave me a hard time at every turn. Getting my phone repaired or replaced felt like an ordeal rather than a straightforward process.

What’s most concerning is that I later found out that this screen issue is a known problem with Motorola phones. It’s disheartening to know that they continue to sell devices with a flaw they are aware of.

In conclusion, my experience with the Motorola screen has been extremely disappointing. The distorted display, delamination problem, and the uncooperative service center have left me frustrated and regretful of my purchase. I strongly advise potential buyers to consider alternative options until Motorola addresses these issues and improves their customer service.

Only Flip with Vanilla Android !!!

First the primary purpose of taking a flip phone was to minimize my smartphone usage and I have succeeded in it to some extent by using the external display. Also, I wanted vanilla android (as I have a good experience with Pixel devices), as such Motorola Flip was an obvious choice apart from Samsung’s flip devices.

Here are my impressions of this phone:

BUILD: Build quality is good, however, it can no way match the quality of usual one-piece devices. As such, people who use their phones roughly shouldn’t purchase this phone. Same holds true for people with butter fingers as this device wouldn’t survive too many drops.

DISPLAY: External display is pretty useful. You can take or make calls; however, they will be on loudspeaker mode. For making calls, only contacts in your favorite’s will be available and you have to selects contacts widget from external display settings first. You can also read messages and emails but you can’t respond to them.

The internal display is huge and colours are nice (if saturated mode is selected) but a downgrade in comparison to my Samsung Note 10 which I used earlier. TAKE MOTOROLA’S CREASELESS CLAIM WITH A PINCH OF SALT, the crease is fairly obvious and will not bother you after sometime.

CALLS: The cellular reception is excellent and the call quality is great. No call drops for me and 5g network speed is also good.

PERFORMANE: Performance of the phone is decent but if you are power user, you will feel it underpowered. There are minor stutters and lags here and there but for normal users, it is manageable.

CAMERA: Coming from Samsung Note 10, I feel the camera quality is downgrade but one can live with it if you want it for normal imaging. One of the issues with the camera is that it is slow and takes half a second to take a picture. Picture quality though is good but colours are muted and lifeless (unless Samsung’s boosted colours) and surprisingly night shots are better. Video quality on the other side is great. The front camera quality is good; however, the WhatsApp video call quality is terrible and I can’t explain why. May be a software update in future will fix both the camera response time and the video call quality which has been the case with Motorola devices.

Some camera samples are also attached to judge for yourself.

BATTERY: Battery life is OK and in most of the scenarios you will get through the day easily with a screen on time of 5-6 hours. However, it charges fairly quick with supplied 33W turbo charger.

Finally, I would recommend this phone to those who have normal usage pattern and want to minimize their smartphone usage and don’t bother about having the best camera phone in the market. At present, the folding screen tech is costly affair and in comparison to Samsung’s costly flip devices Motorola does provide a usable device to the people at a decent enough cost to experience this technology.

Ultimate feel

I purchased this device in doubt and even I tried to cancel this device after going through YouTube reviews as they were mixed
But in the end I accepted the purchase
The box was eco-friendly
I started opening the box out of less expectations as it was going to be my spare device as I am a iOS user
To my surprise, I was overwhelmed to feel the device out of the box ( vanilla colour )
The device looked awesome
The in-hand feel of the device is too good
It easily fits in your back pocket
When you unflip it it’s a 6.9 inches screen with ultimate display and color saturation
There is no bloatware as the pre-installed moto apps are useful and they don’t come with a package of ads
The battery life of the device is decent and easily lasts a day
The camera is also good
The processor is fast
The charging speed is pretty fast
Last but not the least the external display is good and useful

Only one con is when you recieve the call from external display it directly goes on speaker mode
Overall a good device and you will not repent after buying it at 48500

Screen garbage and dead within 10 days

Hopefully final update : Motorola service center has replaced the device with brand new one and fingers crossed, but it’s been behaving nicely for the last week. The mobile by itself seems good, upgrading to 3 stars.

Update 31st July : With no other choice, have given the defective mobile to the service center, not sure at this point if they will do a replacement or repair on the 8 day old phone. Will keep this review updated.

28th July : Original review :
I was among the first to get this phone on launch and the phone was beautiful when i got it, enjoyed it fully for a week. And then the screen started flickering and now this is all i can see on the screen (photo attached) when it feels like starting up. Outer screen still works, inner screen is dead.

I handled it like a baby for the week that it worked and to be honest, i loved the phone till it died a few days after the amazon return date cutoff. Not sure what to do next, very very disappointed with the product quality and return process won’t help here.

A great new experience

Hello all ,
FUN FACT :Buying this phone has seriously reduced my screen time , I rarely flip open the phone or use my phone for anything .

The most basics thing I do is to call 2-3 people in my life everyday and that happens pretty flawlessly with the little outer screen .

Other than that , this phone is great , I switched from an iPhone x . The battery life is amazing ( of course it would be as I rarely touch the thing nowadays ) .

But seriously, this new technology, flip phone
The 120hz display, everything is amazing . Especially the price point .

Well done Motorola . If u really want to try something new , then go for this 100% .

Good phone

It’s actually a good phone with eye catching looks. But that’s it. When it comes to practicality, it’s a bit uneasy to use. You have to unfold everytime to use it, the widgets supported on the outside screens are less. The call attended from outside will be in speaker mode by default. This becomes unpleasant especially when you are eating or busy with something and when you get a call. The software is sometimes buggy. There are few call drops I have noticed. The battery back up is average for a fold phone but cannot expect like a bar phone. I bought this after exchanging my redmi note 8 pro. I found the latter to be more user friendly and practical than this. There is no external storage available, The hinge mechanism is making some noise while closing and opening but still sturdy. There is a chance for dust getting in between the hinges especially small hard dust particles which may affect the opening and closing. That being said, razr 40 has a good and tall display. The speakers are decent. The cover provided with this phone is good. Overall I rate 3.5/5 for this product
22/10/2023: speakers are showing distortion from 80% volume and up. May require replacement. Hinge mechanism is showing some slack. Don’t expect this mobile to last like bar phones.
